My roots

My name is Arjun Vad, and I thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. I grew up in Bombay. In 9th grade, I was sent to Khapa, a village outside Nagpur, to help install 770 solar panels. The village had fifteen power cuts a day. The technology to fix that had existed for decades. It had simply never arrived.

Everything I have built since is a version of that lesson. Invention is not the hard part. Getting it to the people who need it is.

The road here

I co-founded a healthcare AI company, raised $650K, scaled it to 20,000 users across India, and secured a state-government pilot on healthcare distribution involving 400 doctors. I built the first version of Agencity, a platform helping students get into YC-backed companies, to 7,000 users and 4M organic impressions with $0 in paid spend. Before that, I built Crowdflo, bringing bootcamps and extracurriculars to 5,000+ students across rural India.

Along the way, I did founding engineering and growth at a16z-backed Axal, machine learning research at UC San Diego, and helped build a full-sized humanoid robot with UCSD's Triton Droids team.

What I do now

I run Agencity, the underlying distribution stack that carries frontier technology into the world's growth markets: India, the Gulf, and Southeast Asia. We invest early, and then we do the work most firms leave behind: deployment, market entry, and growth on the ground. Around the two of us runs a machine of 35+ operators and a circle of 60 advisors and strategic partners, including general partners at leading Silicon Valley venture firms and prominent technology founders.

The portfolio so far

I'm on the founding team and an early investor at CLD-9, building personalised medicine powered by robotics. I ran the company's $2M fundraise end to end, and Antler and Boost VC invested after us. I'm an early investor in Raisi, an AI fundraising platform powering $500M+ in active raise campaigns and used by portfolio companies of leading VCs. I'm also an investor in Mussel Polymers, whose adhesives carry US Navy contracts and just closed a $10M Series A. And I'm a founding partner at Nuron, a world-model AI lab still in stealth.

My goals

I want to be the call a founder makes when the technology works and the market will not move. The companies we back inherit more than a check. They inherit channels, operators, and relationships that took years to earn. My goal is to watch frontier technology actually arrive, in factories in Gujarat, schools across India, and ports in Singapore, and to have built the machinery that carried it there.

I'm studying Computational Mathematics at UCLA.

Outside the office

I run a content engine reaching a 500K+ monthly audience of founders, operators, and investors. I stay curious at Titanic's End, an art-build crew building a sinking Titanic for Burning Man. I spent the 2026 season welding, climbing, and raising its tower with people I would never have met in a boardroom. If you have read this far, it would be my pleasure to have a chai with you.
